You can think, analyse, discriminate as per your BUDHI which is essential for learning and understanding. Budhi is Mercury... the able and beautiful son of Manas who is the driving force of this present incarnation of soul. So mercury is bound to think on the line and pattern of manas because of its genetic lineage of manas and tara. On surface it might appear to be enemies but deep inside they are same. As manas is a unstable entity.. Increases/decreases daily..So is budhi.. Budhi is advised to go to Jupiter for better learning and knowledge...But gets more influence from rahu ketu energy who appears More stronger than Jupiter. That is why purpose of life is lost as we start living in past or future instead of present..
So work hard to improve your manas which will in turn change budhi automatically. This can be achieved with mantras.. Repeated words or syllables influencing manas..Giving an acceptable meaningful understanding to budhi..As advised by rishis of vedic era..And by saadhna..
सदृशं चेष्टते स्वस्या प्रकृतेर्ज्ञानवानपि |
प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रह किं करिष्यति || 3.33||
sadṛśaṃ ceṣṭate svasyāḥ prakṛter jñānavān api |
prakṛtiṃ yānti bhūtāni nigrahaḥ kiṃ kariṣyati ||3.33||
Even the man of knowledge acts in conformity with his own nature;
(all) beings follow (their) nature; what shall coercion avail?
